The designing of a shop at premises such as those occupied by ARTos could not follow the usual guidelines. The enterprise should also be able to function as an exhibit – have its own identity, as well as respect (in a particular way) the ordained-preservable building. The first sketches revealed only one item which could inhabit this particular space, and which would also cater for all the needs of a modern-day shop. By necessity, this item should be variable; something which has been achieved through the use of rotational axes, and, if possible, hover in mid-air, without touching any of the surfaces of the room, even though this could not be realized because of gravitational problems! In the end therefore, the item (a little animal) hovers over an underlay of grass, which we hope it does not devour!
